Despite the popularity that this series still garners almost 20 years since its release, it is not commercially available over here in the United States. The show's age and dated artwork would not be looked upon by many people today and its length can cause licensing the series in America to be rather expensive. Due to this, Legend of the Galactic Heroes is currently only available on disc in the Asian market and can be quite expensive to purchase, the recent Japanese Bluray re-releases cost around $500 per season if you're willing to import it. Despite this set-back, LOGH can still be viewed and fully translated in English. A fan subbing group by the name of Central Anime has put up a fully translated release of the entire series, along with all its sequels some years back and is still widely avaliable. The subtitled episodes can be found all over streaming video sites such as Youtube, or even downloaded onto your PC from various Bit-Torrent sites. These translated releases have allowed many people(including me) to appreciate this classic and it still has a fairly strong underground following today thanks to them.
